Raymarine on the block?

It was reported today that an offer has been made for Raymarine by an unknown entity.  Speculation abounds as to the buyer with Furuno, Garmin and Navico (Simrad/Lowrance) mentioned as likely candidates.

I can't imagine Furuno is in the game at all so there's nothing to discuss there.

Navico has been buying everyone and would really benefit immediately with a good complete product line available now.  Lowrance, Simrad and Northstar products have been an awkward mishmash, with tough delivery issues since they all joined forces, and Raymarine would instantly give their parent company a thriving business while  the rest of the pieces are sorted out.  They have hired away some excellent people from Raymarine and other companies and will be a force sooner or later.  Sooner with Raymarine.

Garmin is my guess, and it's really just a guess, but they have tons of money and a long suffering marine division.  Raymarine would give them instant credibility on boats over 30-feet that the rest of their TR-1 and Garmin products don't afford them.  They are good products though and Garmin would have a very complete line from VHF radios to G-Series big boat stuff.

How about some other wild-assed guesses: West Marine, Johnson Outdoors, Brunswick?

Let the speculation continue.
