The International Boatbuilders Exhibition and Conference, better known as IBEX, kicked off this week. And for those who like to see the very latest gear  — much of which has not yet hit the market yet — this is where to find it.

IBEX is an industry show, not open to the public. The IBEX Innovation Awards draw manufacturers from all corners of the industry, which bring their latest technology for judges to review.

Ever seen a biometric fingerprint scanner that can start your boat's engines? How about a stove with silicone pads that grips the pots and pans? Or gauges that glow when fuel consumption is optimized? Or seacocks you can open and close from the helm? 

You can see all that here — and a great deal more. It hasn't been tested yet by journalists yet. And much of it needs refinement. But the new ideas show up here first — and we'll show them to you.  

The Innovation Award winners will be announced Wednesday, and we'll report that, too. Until then, take a look at some of the latest the industry has to offer.
