Sheathed!

What a day!

Up early (at least for a holiday) and out to work.

Got the hull blown off and the Xynole laid out. Then it was a matter of applying epoxy, and more epoxy. Nearly 4 gallons worth and 7+ hours work. My parents came up and my Dad was able to help out immensly.

It was a very hot day, without nearly enough wind. Several hours later, I've begun to recover.

Note that the "fluff" at the bow will get trimmed up and cleaned up. We had extra cloth there and I was too beat to finish it all out. Over the next few days I've got to get the keel covered, sand, fair and paint.

After cleaning up a little, we celebrated July 4th as a family with a nice, traditional meal of hamburgers with the fixings. My mother commented that "maybe next year you can spend July 4th on the water". I don't know if I'll make that date, but sure sounds good to me!
