Rubrail blood

Most of my work (which hasn't been much) in the last couple of weeks has been painting. First off I painted the rubrails. I know, why would you paint a rubrail? Well, it looks better than the PVC I used, and it gives the bare PVC some UV protection that I think it will need.

The flip side will be seeing how big a maintenance nightmare it is (i.e. how scratched up it gets). In my testing so far, I've found that the paint holds awfully well to a slightly roughed up (sanded) piece of PVC. In a few places where I didn't get it sanded as well, then it doesn't do quite as well.

Of course, all proud of my fine looking rub rail, it rained that night before it was totally dry. I now have "bloody runs" down the side of the hull in several places. Well, the hull needed another coat at some point. Hope it covers well.

Did a little inside work on fixing the head door latch and some more painting around the windows. Its amazing how much better things can look with a coat of paint covering the bare wood.
