Dry spell

No, not the weather, but rather the build.

Sometimes things just seem to keep you away from boat building. And then you fall out of the "habit" and its hard to get moving again. Recent travels and decidedly non-dry weather here in Atlanta has kept the build moving pretty slow. Hopefully we can get things moving again.

I will note that the designer, Mark Van Abbema hightly recommends that you find some way to cover your build (shed, barn, something). I agree. I would have gotten much farther, much faster (and with less rework) with cover.

In terms of progress, I have been working on the aft cockpit/deck area some recently. Got the side locker lids hinged up (finally found the magic combination for hinges).

After this was shot I got another coat of paint on most all of the rear cockpit, including these lockers (exterior), aft cabin wall and the sliding door. Now if it doesn't wash off in the rain before it drys, I'll be moving on a bit.
