Portholes, round 2

Just a little update, in between some church activities and on-going wet weather.

Dane and I got the porthole frames sealed and mounted. I put a bead of caulk behind the frame, mounted it, and then another bead around the edge.

Of course I find that one side is still managing to leak around the glass a bit, but I think I can deal with that (either live with it or seal the glass).

The expansion/contraction of the plexiglass is pretty significant as the temperature changes and allowing for that can get tricky. Another builder of a boat by the same designer had his rear door cracked apart when he got the tolerences too close and then the boat got parked with the stern in the sun.

Close tolerences generally isn't a problem I have, but in this case its on purpose.
