So Much To Do...

In the last week I finished up the last of the frames and the transom. I found that the two "problem" frames weren't off by nearly as much as I thought, and were fairly easy to correct and glue up. I've also learned more about what I can fix with epoxy.

Building Confidence, Frame by Frame

It’s funny how, when building a boat, you can go from being totally lost, to uncomfortable, to finding some tricks that make it fairly easy, to considering yourself fairly confident about something – all in the space of 10 frames.

New V28 Renderings Released

Mark Van Abbema, who designed the boat I am building, has put up some new renderings of the V28 with a bit more detail to help envision what the boat will look like when complete. Take a look.

Two Steps Forward, One Step Back

Things have been progressing steadily, if not as fast as I would like. It has actually gone quicker than I feared it would. I've gotten to work on boat stuff at least a couple of hours every other day for the last week or two. The only downside is that it seems like it has been two steps forward and one step back part of the time.

The Epoxy and The Tape Measure

Life is a learning curve. Seems like I heard that somewhere. Well, epoxy use has been a learning curve too.

Just Do It...

Here's a quote that is popular in the boating world:

Getting Started

Everybody kept telling me how big this project is, and I could understand that intellectually. But from a "feel" standpoint, it just didn't t seem that bad.

As usual, the people were right, as I'm finding out. Ah well, that's ok. We'll deal.

Plans ordered

Well, it has started.

Plans arrived!

Mark promptly came through with the plans.

What's next?

I know my hoards of adoring fans...ok my one adoring fan...well, maybe somebody...has been wondering what's going on. I can see why this takes so long. It's not just painting.
