Mad Mariner is proud to announce the arrival of its latest blogger Matt Smith, whose Woody Boater blog provides a wonderful window on the world of antique and classic boats. Best of all, like Mad Mariner, he writes every day.
WOODY BOAT
Wooden boats in general, and antique classics in particular, are generally underserved when it comes to the online world – that is, until Matt came along. His blog is the only journal that serves this community daily. And it's an important community. Whether in power or sail, it seems that all boaters like the classic woodies. Restoration may be a labor of love – and it is not for the meek – but there are few things more beautiful on the water than a sleek wooden classic shining in the sun.
Woody Boater offers high-quality coverage, from it's photos of the well-known wooden boat show on Lake Tahoe to its Boat of the Month (most recently a 1947 Garwood Deluxe Sedan, which you simply have to see). Matt's devotion to the topic is total and his work is both fun and definitive.
The editors at Mad Mariner are glad to have him on the site.
