ALL YANMAR MARINE DIESELS CAN NOW USE B5 DIESEL

Yanmar Marine USA today announced that it has certified all of its recreational marine diesels to use B5 diesel fuel -- a blend of 95 percent standard diesel and 5 percent biodiesel.

Compared to standard diesel, B5 biodiesel can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and soot. B5 conforms to the ASTM D6751 and ISO EN14214 specifications. The certification means boaters now have access to B5-compatible Yanmar diesels ranging from 9.1 HP to 900 HP. Yanmar warned, however, that some other components of a typical system, not part of the engine itself, may not be compatible and said owners should check with the manufacturers of fuel supply and return systems to ensure there will be no problems.
