Flexible Tanks

Good article!

I'm going to need this down the road a bit on the boat build... I have a spot for a freshwater tank that is going to be "odd shaped" and had considered a flexible... sounds like just the thing.

Good point... how reliable has everybody found them? I haven't heard much in the way of failures, and those usually revolved around physical damage (rubbing, etc.).

Flexible tanks certainly fill a need, but my first choice would be a hard molded poly tank. Not that flexible tanks are bad, they just take more care to correctly install. That is you don't have to worry about the tank lines flexing or the tank chafing with a poly tank. That being said, there are places were there isn't a properly sized poly tank available or the right access. One of the best features of a flex tank is that you can take it out for cleaning. YMMV
