Very nice pictures, although I must admit to being a little disappointed.

I was expecting an article on Mediterranean Style mooring (stern to the dock/wall) and how best to do it... maybe somebody can post one of those before long :-)

Seriously, nice pictures of some pretty craft.

Lot's of people seem to be put off by the med style mooring and I've certainly seen some pretty hairy attempts. However as for many other activities if you understand the basics and plan it properly it's a doddle. You can find plenty of on line guides if you search on stern to or med style mooring.

One of the problems I encountered, especially with a cross wind, was just with my wife and I onboard is we could do with a 3rd hand or another vessel to "lean on" downwind. Although you couldn't always find someone ashore to throw your lines and even if you did the language barrier could be a problem. It was one of the reasons why we developed the Cadarn Talon rescue & mooring device. I set the Talon up on a boat hook on the windward side and have it ready to hook on as I bring the yacht in, it has proven to me invaluable and helps the whole activity to be drama free.
