Mad Mariner's Forums are dedicated to discussing stories published on the site, and any other boating topics that readers care to tackle. They are free of charge and available to all readers. Our hope is that they will emerge as a resource, as well as a place to get questions answered and share your insights.

FORUM GUIDELINES
All boaters are welcome on Mad Mariner's Forum.
All Forum participants, including Mad Mariner's own employees and advertisers, are subject to the terms of these Guidelines.
The Forum contains public web pages that are accessible to anyone with an Internet connection. Participants are free to post* personal information, including their email address, but do so knowing that this information will be public. Highly specific personal information, such as a home address, should not be posted.
Posts must be limited to boating-related topics.
Posts may not contain profanity.
Posts should be truthful, to the best of the author's knowledge. Posts that deliberately misinform will be removed.
Posts containing links to other websites, including other boating sites, are welcome. However, they are subject to the rules below that apply to advertising.
Posts may not contain racist, sexist or homophobic language, descriptions of illegal activity, or other material deemed inappropriate by Forum moderators and members. Posts that contain such material will be removed. To identify a post you feel is inappropriate or violates these rules, use the Contact form, which can be accessed via the Home Page. Please be sure to include the Internet address (URL) of the Post in question.
Representatives of the marine industry must disclose their company associations when posting. Failure to do so may result is posts being removed.
Posts that constitute blatant advertising will be removed.
Posts that offer items for sale are welcome, but they may be moved into a Forum section dedicated to sales.
The opinions expressed in Forum posts are those of the Forum participants, and do not represent those of Mad Mariner, its employees or advertisers.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN FORUMS?
All Mad Mariner readers are welcome to read and post on Forums, including subscribers, trial members and those just visiting. There is no charge.
WHAT IS REQUIRED?
All that is required is that you register with the site, which can be done for free by clicking the Free Trial button on the home Page and giving your name, username and email address. There is no charge to use the Forums, even after your trial expires, whether or not you choose to subscribe.
DO FORUMS REQUIRE A TRIAL OR SUBSCRIPTION?
No. Participants must register with the site, which is done by clicking the Free Trial button on the home Page and giving your name, username and email address. Thereafter, you can always access the forums, even if your trial expires and you do not subscribe.
WHAT ABOUT COMPANY REPRESENTATIVES?
Members of the boating industry add valuable information and perspective, and they are welcome on Mad Mariner's Forums. But we do we ask that they identify themselves and where they work. It is only fair that other Forum members have this information in order to evaluate posts in the proper context. Failure to do so could result in posts being removed.
ARE POSTS CENSORED?
No. Posts that violate the Guidelines may be removed. Those that do not will remain. But no post will be altered by Mad Mariner.
CAN PICTURES OR LINKS BE POSTED?
Mad Mariner's Forums do not enable pictures to be posted at this time, but links to boating-related articles, images and websites are welcome.
WHAT IS NOT ALLOWED ON FORUMS?
The Forum Guidelines spell out the type of material that is inappropriate for a post.
