Homeland Security wants help from boaters in search of terrorists

The Gall and Nerve of Homeland Security:

I saw an article in my local newspaper the other day with the latest idea from Homeland Security on tracking down terrorists.  Seems like they want me to use MY BOAT to go out and ride around and  report suspicious activity.

First the government lets the oil company get the price of fuel up so high I can't hardly afford to buy it and then the government wants me to  burn up my fuel looking for suspicious activity.

What goes here? How about some help on the price of fuel so I can go out and look for terrorists????

I will go out and look for terrorists when gas is back down to $1.50 a gallon. What are your thoughts on burning up your fuel to  help them look for terrorists???

Yeah, I don't know what to make of that.

I was in the room when Chertof made his announcement. Didn't seem like a lot of substance there.

I don't know what announcement that was.

I do know the Coast Guard sponsors a program called America's Waterway Watch. It's often referred to as Neghborhood Watch on the water. They realize recreational boaters are likely to see suspicious activities and they encourage us to observe and report. http://www.americaswaterwaywatch.org/
