Hard Times...Boats Repo'd or Short Sales?

Does anyone know what happens to a boat when an owner loses it back to the bank?  I haven't seen any auctions in my local paper but Columbus is inland..... Seems to be no shortage of companies selling lists but most of those names on the list are boat brokers who seem to make the same or more regardless of how they got the boat or for how much.

It would seem that there may some opportunities to buy-up out there.  I buy and sell homes out of auctions, HUDs and Short Sales.  Does anyone have any experience with buying a boat on a short sale (where the owner is loosing it bank to the bank and lender accepts partial payment as settlement in full to avoid repossessing the boat)
