Nauticast-B AIS to Raymarine E120

Hello folks....

New member here, with an urgent need of help in interfacing the equipment.  The equipment is listed in the title along with an Acitsense NDC-4A multiplexer.  I can get the AIS to show on my laptop, but not the E120.  Checking the nmea sentences...  the VDM and VDO are not shown on the E120.

Would someone know the magic trick to make this work with the E120?

Thanks in advance....

Capt. Hank

Let the Buyer Beware

I bought a now known to be Korean VFH portable with the name West Marine on the front, a VFH55 currently being sold in the store for roughly $130.  The radio is less than two years old, but the lithium battery BP55 puked and I needed a replacement.  Off to the WM store I go and low and behold the battery is discontinued and the unit doesn't have a AA conversion unit.

And right there in front of me is a new unit for sale, the same identical radio.

How will we handle the conversion of our small non-digital boat TV's when everything goes digital?

We just bought a "new to us" boat that has a small tv,dvd player.  The tv is of course not digital and the space for that tv is very limited.  I've been searching the net for smaller digital tv's as a replacement but have come us almost empty.  There are going to be quite a few boaters with this same problem.  Since I am not an electronic wiz, what are my options?  Anyone got any answers?

Marine Corrosion

The RDI-CRE Corrosion Reference Electrode is a professional-grade silver/silver-chloride (Ag/AgCl) reference electrode for performing corrosion potential surveys on boats and yachts. The portable electrode has an integral 20’ marine grade cable and is weighted for easy submergence. Used with a digital multimeter, this simple test is a valuable diagnostic tool to identify stray electrical current and provide warning as to the condition of your vessel’s zincs and drives.

Multifunction systems

What multifunction system do you have and how do you like it?

Over the last few years we have seen systems from Raymarine, Furuno, Garmin, Lowrance and others hit the market. I would like to start a discussion that gives the fans of these systems a chance to share just what they like and don't lke about the system they have used.
