Foundation Offers Grants For Safety Education

The BoatUS Foundation is looking for creative and innovative boating safety projects.

If your local organization has a program aimed at promoting safety on local waterways, now it the time to apply. The foundation is awarding grants of up to $4,000.

Over the past two decades, BoatUS has awarded $800,000 to community groups, yacht clubs, flotillas and squadrons. Topics can range from literature on the effects of drunken boating under the influence to signs at boat ramps telling users about free vessel safety checks.

Check the foundation's Web site for a list of past grant recipients and learn how to apply yourself.
