Remember Landmarks

I have been around boats all my life. My time on the water began when I went out most Sunday mornings with my grandparents on their 28-foot wooden fishing boat. I have used one piece of advice that my grandad impressed upon me on those trips. It's still valid today even though we now have GPS units to navigate with. I always tell anyone new to boating to look back from where they came from and pick out a landmark so they can find their way home.

Boating on the Chesapeake, this little piece of advice can be pretty important. All the shoreline pretty much looks the same.
